Warriors from the Himalayas
£25.00
By Gordon Elsden
A 2-book box set containing a series of very personal stories from senior veteran Gurkha soldiers from both the east and west of Nepal. The stories trace their lives from their childhood, invariably barefoot and clad in threadbare cotton and wool garments; their struggle to be selected to enter the British Gurkha regiments; their training in Malaya and Hong Kong and subsequent operational deployment around the world.
It also includes details of those featured during their subsequent careers working for GWT supporting Gurkha veterans in Nepal.
The foreword of each book is written by Dame Joanna Lumley DBE and Al Howard (CEO GWT) respectively.
